Our Mission

The National Team Match Play Golf League was born from a simple idea: what if golf felt more like a team sport? As a lifelong fan of both baseball and golf, our founder saw a natural parallel between the two games that had never been fully explored. In baseball, a manager crafts a lineup, slots players into roles, and watches strategy unfold inning by inning. In golf, the course is your opponent — hole by hole, shot by shot. The NTMGL was built to bring those two worlds together. In our league, captains set their lineups just like a baseball manager, deploying players with purpose and strategy. Matches are played Ryder Cup style — singles match play where every hole is worth a point. The course isn't your only opponent. You're battling a player from the other team, hole by hole, point by point. And those points don't just decide individual matches; they feed the overall team score, making every putt and every concession matter to the bigger picture. The NTMGL is an amateur league system open to golfers of all ages, with divisions organized by age group so competition stays meaningful and fair at every level. But our vision extends well beyond the local course. Our goal is to build leagues across the country, creating a true national network of competitive team golf — and twice a year, bring those leagues together for national championships where the best teams in the country can compete for something bigger than a club trophy. 6. Make Playoffs - Top teams compete for the championship
