It's official: the Dallas Pinseekers are not letting go of the DFW Golf League crown. One year after claiming the Season 1 title, the Pinseekers went back-to-back on Sunday, blitzing Slice & Dice 13–6 at Frisco Lakes Golf Club to lock up the Season 2 championship — and they made it look easy.
Slice & Dice arrived riding the best story of the playoffs: a fourth-seed squad that had just knocked off top-seeded MIGHTYchondrians two weeks earlier. But the same magic that toppled the regular-season champs ran out of holes against the two-time defending champions. Dallas swept both singles matches, 23 holes to 11, and never trailed.

Hackney Sets the Tone, Then Seals It
Playing off a 13 handicap against scratch golfer Matthew Crowell, Pinseekers captain Brian Hackney came out swinging — winning four of the first four holes to grab immediate control. Crowell clawed back late in the front nine, taking three of the last four holes to make it a 5–4 match through nine. It didn't matter.
Hackney won six of the seven decided holes on the back nine, turning a tight match into a laugher.
Back-Nine Surge — Match 1Hackney closed with a vengeance, taking holes 10, 11, 13, 15, 17, and 18 while halving two more, to finish 11 holes won to Crowell's 5. Final tally: 12–6 in match points. Crowell actually posted the better gross round, 87 to Hackney's 92 — but with 10 strokes in his pocket, Hackney turned that difference into a rout on the card that counted.
Forfeit Finishes the Sweep
Match 2 never got off the tee. Mark Repasy was awarded a 12–6 forfeit win over Aaron Wilson, banking the point that clinched the sweep before a single hole was posted. Not the finish anyone circles on a highlight reel, but a title is a title — and Dallas took both matches on offer.
A Budding Dynasty
Season 1, Season 2 — same result. Dallas Pinseekers have now beaten Slice & Dice in back-to-back championship matches, and Hackney has been at the center of it both times, going a combined perfect run through this year's playoffs after posting 2–0 in the semifinals as well. For Slice & Dice, the Cinderella run ends one match short — but a fourth-seed trip to the championship is nothing to hang their heads about.
The trophy's back in Dallas. The only question now is who's coming for it in Season 3.
